Staunton is a Shenandoah Valley city west of Rockfish Gap, the south entrance to Skyline Drive. The Frontier Culture Museum is on the east side of town.
Grand Caverns is to the north at Grottoes, and Wintergreen Resort is across the ridge in Nelson County.
