From the White Rock Gap parking area at Parkway milepost 18.5, the loop drops down the White Rock Falls Trail to the 30-foot falls and its gorge overlooks, climbs back to the Parkway, follows the Slacks and Torry Ridge trails with views of Bald and Kelly mountains, then comes down past the Sherando Lake dam and campground and back up the White Rock Gap Trail: 9.4 miles with about 1,850 feet of climbing, rated hard by MyHikes, about four and a half hours.
It can also be started from Sherando Lake (day-use fee in the recreation area) or Slacks Overlook. Reviewers note steep, eroded sections and a stretch of paved campground road.
